Stained Glass Christmas

When I was a little girl, I made a stained glass window. My mother hung it up every year and still has it today (although we have to be careful now that it is getting older...). My mom loved that that craft of mine and it is still one of my favorite crafts I made as a child. So, I wanted to share an updated version of how to make your own stained glass window!

Here is what you will need:

A window (if you cannot find a window to use, you can fashion a window frame with construction paper- window seen here from Target Dollar Spot)

Tissue paper of varying colors

Scissors

Clear glue (seen here- Elmer's clear glue)

Paper plate

First, cut strips of a variety of colored tissue paper

Then cut those strips into smaller squares (or any shape your prefer- the smaller you cut them, the more pieces of tissue paper you will have to glue)

Place the tissue paper squares to the side and pour/squeeze a good circle of glue on the paper plate

Now drag the tissue paper through the glue or use a paint brush to swipe glue onto the tissue paper

Place the glue-covered side down onto the back of your window

Cover the entire window space with tissue paper

Set to the side to dry- this may take a long time depending on how much glue was used

Once the back is dry, turn over and see your stained glass window!
