It's right in there the title: change happens. Many people don't like to acknowledge that and I think it hurts them in the long run. I know comfort zones are, well comfortable, but they can be blinders to change coming on the horizon, or even in front of you now. People change and grow because we are always learning. Some change slower than others and most oftentimes because they are not as accepting of change.
So let me put it this way:
The only consistent in life is change.
I think it is best to be prepared for it. There are a few things to know and act upon in order to be prepared:
1. Acknowledge that change will happen.
You can't see change coming if you won't at least recognize that change happens. This is the first thing you must do to be primed. You have to have the mindset that change is coming and that you will be able to adapt.
2. Anticipate areas of change coming up.
Once you know you can adapt, keep your eye out for possible areas of change. This takes practice and it doesn't cover all changes, because life is full of surprises, but it will make it easier to accept the changes when you have anticipated them. Be willing and open to make adjustments or take some leaps of faith in these areas as well.
3. Be ready to learn and grow through the change.
Process what those changes could look like. You might not have anticipated the correct direction of a change, but when you are prepared for some scenarios, it makes it easier to shift those ideas and adapt them to whatever the change actually looks like. Be open to learning and growing. Think of changes as opportunities.
